The anticipated release of a government report about UFOs (or UAPs) later this month has created a lot of public discussion about what might be included in that report, and perhaps more importantly, what might be excluded. But in the end, the government does not know, nor can it, what the UAPs really are, or are not, because they are a paradox.
Briefly stated, a paradox occurs when two statements of supposed facts are perceived to contradict each other. The UAP paradox is that the UAPs behave as if they wished to avoid detection, yet they get detected anyway. Why is that a paradox? Because, any technology that is capable of the reported flight characteristics of the UAPs, capabilities that exceed anything earthly we know about, and indeed, can seem to violate the known laws of physics, must surely be capable of stealth technology vastly exceeding ours — and ours is fairly good, and getting better, despite having been first developed in its present form only in recent decades.
In short, if the UAPs are the product of advanced technology, as they seem to be, then either they wish to hide or not. If they wish to hide, we should never, ever, be able to detect them. If they do not wish to hide, we should see them frequently, under conditions of irrefutable evidence. The paradox is that they do neither. They hide, and then they don't hide. What could be the explanation for that?
I consider the hypothesis of alien spacecraft in our skies plausible but lacking sufficient evidence to persuade an honest skeptic. Indeed, I consider it even less plausible that UAPs are the product of earthly technology, because that also presents a paradox.

For what it’s worth: I have a friend who is an electrical engineer and used to work for Northrup Grumman. One of the pieces of equipment he was involved with was used by the Air Force. The machine is able to send images of pseudo-targets to the planes radar systems in order to test a crew’s ability at simulated reconnaissance. The pilots cannot tell if what their radar picks up is real or not. Given that these UFOs defy physics, he believes what we are seeing are just videos of those exercises where the trainers were having fun with the pilots. That explains why the quality of the videos is so poor, and why it is only radar images that are being shown and not clear images of the actual UFOs in flight.

We have been able to do that since the early 70s. Shortly after that we were able to read a pack of cigarettes.
Our infrared sensors have had longer range than radar.
It is laffable they are passing off these bigfoot quality potato phone pics as proof.
IMHO seeing something that looks like a relatively small light bouncing around in an erratic pattern doesn’t immediately suggest an alien piloting a craft.

Our eyes and minds tend to want to put things into understandable patterns and directional movements we can relate to and mentally process. It could be something designed to exploit that innate human perception characteristic. A little bit like how magic messes with our perception.

There’s no paradox. He’s missing two big concepts:
just because they’re technologically superior doesn’t mean their technology to hide is 100% effective. There are certain basic difficulties with things invisibility. And we did learn when we came up with stealth aircraft that they had a problem with old style radar systems, they just send out the radar with too much oomph. Sometimes old tech can win.
And 2nd maybe they don’t always want to hide. We don’t have our subs always run silent. We don’t exclusively send our stealth aircraft into enemy territory.
A better analogy would be this—imagine an Indian scout discovered the first white men they had ever seen far away on the horizon.
They would report it to the chief and then the tribe leaders would probably be consulted.
Should they tell the rest of the tribe—or hope to secretly capture some tech and reverse engineer it to use against other tribes?
The answer—it does not matter, the tribe is toast.
Some years back a UAP appeared to hover above O’Hare Intl. for some time.
Pilots, ground crews, control tower personnel and their radars all saw it. Audio recordings were released.

This is the key thing the author is mistaking. Advance maneuvering technology does not automatically mean some sort of cloaking device. There is no reason to thing such techs would go hand and hand.
Why the government cannot answer the UFO question.
Same reason why you can’t turn lead into gold.
They could still be in the testing phase. Testing both the technology and testing adversarys' response and defenses.
That's not a photo or a video. That's computer display using icons to represent the radar returns being collected by the onboard radar systems. There was a video recently released that was taken with a handheld camera (likely a cellphone) that recorded one of the radar MFDs in the CIC aboard a guided missile cruiser during a 'swarming event' of these unknown objects.
The 'videos' that have shown the object the naval aviators could not identify were mostly taken from the AN/ASQ-228 ATFLIR targeting pods that hang from the bottom of the wing on F/A-18s. These aren't systems that are using radar. They're using thermographic cameras and low-light video cameras, a COMPLETLEY different technology.
Interesting and brings a memory back to mind. My father was in the navy in the late 50’s. As a child the idea of UFOs interested me. I asked him what they were and he mentioned either they were of a demonic source (possibly), OR, that while in the navy they were in the north Atlantic and were told if they saw any “strange lights” in the sky it was just top secret Air Force craft being tested. Hmmm....

Another random thought here.... what IF this technology is targeted to be used in a similar fashion to COVID? SCARE the general population out of their minds!!
That's insane. Only someone who has never worked in government in any capacity could believe such nonsense.
It’s tempting to write a sci-fi story, if I were an author type, and borrow an idea from Ender’s Game - that of technological improvement/space travel on one side as observed on the other. Within that *fictional* framework, visitors would occasionally be sent to observe, very occasionally interact, and stuff. Occasionally, mistakes/malfunctions would happen.
But as time would go on, from the point of view of the ‘backward’ planet bound observees, these apparent odd visitations would eventually increase in frequency, and in apparent technology.
Would there eventually be a reveal? I don’t know. It would depend on what the “observer’s” role is.
But alas, I’m a poor author, and no doubt, the concept has already been hashed over repeatedly. If nothing else, check out Ayreon’s albums/discography.

It’s hard to write fiction when reality gets stranger than make-believe.
I know there have been reports, but given the amount of eyes on space and the fact that the military are part of those eyes there is no report, no photo, no video, no nothing from just outside our atmosphere where military satellites are everywhere?
