Yes, Asheville has gone bat**** crazy over the years. One of the wiccan strongholds. We still have family there but I have stopped visiting.

I was a journalist in Asheville, years ago. There was a pro-prayer movement that some of the local churches had a rally for at one of the public high school football stadiums. It drew a LOT of people.

Then the local witches and warlocks decided that they had to have their own rally at the same football stadium, public accommodation and all that. So one week there was "We Still Pray" and a week and a half later there was "We Still Work Magic".

The surrounding area is still solidly conservative. But Asheville itself is a loss.
