A) Shoot the gun in the air
- A very foolish move that would accomplish nothing.
B) Shoot the perp in the leg or butt
- So now all cops are marksmen? Aiming for other than center mass is very dangerous.
C) Use a taser
- Not all cops carry tasers. They require separate training, and we have recently seen how things can go wrong. Also, you need to be close to the perp and you only get one shot.
