After years studying the icy waters of the Southern Ocean with floating robotic monitors, a consortium of oceanographers and other researchers is deploying them across the planet, from the north Pacific to the Indian Ocean.

The project known as the Global Ocean Biogeochemistry Array, or GO-BGC, started in March with the launch of the first of 500 new floating robotic monitors containing computers, hydraulics, batteries and an array of sensors scientists say will relay a more comprehensive picture of the ocean and its health.

"The ocean is extremely important to the climate, to the sustainability of the earth, its supply of food, protein to enormous numbers of people. We don't monitor it very well," said Ken Johnson, GO-BGC's project director and a senior scientist at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) in Moss Landing, California.

I never thought of robots as having “health”.

What is their baseline?

Their findings will just become panic porn of some sort with solutions that benefit politics of some sort.

I wonder what the scrap value of these things will be? Some fishermen will find out.

Will it be considered a hate crime if an oil tanker runs into and over one?

The robot will merge with a probe from the alien UFOs and form a device with the mission of destroying humanity in the name of preserving the health of the oceans.

Insane crap.

I like studying the Biogeochemistry of the ocean. That doesn’t cost much and is a legitimate scientific study.

But it has nothing to do with climate change apocalypse and their secular apocalyptic cult beliefs.

Neither did I. And if it’s the health concerns of robots one is worried about why are they being put into the ocean?

Honest to God. Who writes these headlines, eighth grade girls?
