AUSTIN, Texas (KETK) – Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order early Tuesday morning that prohibits state agencies or political offices from having a so-called “vaccine passport.”
The order also prohibits organizations that receive public funds from requiring consumers to prove they have been vaccinated before they receive service.
“Everyday, Texans are returning to normal life as more people get the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine. But, as I’ve said all along, these vaccines are always voluntary and never forced. Government should not require any Texan to show proof of vaccination and reveal private health information just to go about their daily lives.”

This executive order comes one day after the Lone Star State made national headlines for the first capacity crowd at a professional sporting event since the start of the pandemic.
The Texas Rangers allowed a sellout crowd to gather at their home opener in Globe Life Field Monday afternoon when they opened a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Rangers dropped a 6-2 game in front of more than 38,000 fans.
Abbott also made headlines by declining a previously accepted invitation to throw out the first pitch after Major League Baseball moved the All-Star Game out of Atlanta due to a controversial elections bill was signed into law back in March.

Abbott said in the letter to the Rangers organization that it “doesn’t diminish the deep respect” he has for them.
Guess that Houston Methodist Hospital will have to relocate out of state with all those “you must vax” execs. So sad to see them disappointed.
We will see how this plays out with American, United, and Southwest, who all have major hubs here. I am supposed to fly on American this summer. Not with the experimental jab.

Most likely motivated in part by Abbott’s showing in the CPAC polls.
An executive order is fine. But the legislature needs to embody this into law or the next Dem governor will just overturn it.

Apply that to any business that got financial aid.
Democratic governor in Texas? Surely, you jest.
He is not talking about banning vaccinations, just the stupid death virus passport.

I haven't heard of one government in the US even thinking about demanding proof of vaccination.
No jest. If they do in Houston and San Antonio what they did in Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta, etc, then they can flip statewide races in Texas blue.
Remember, Trump did not have a huge win in Texas.
Our local Meals on Wheels, which receives gov. money, has said you must give proof of Covid vaccination to meet and eat at our community center. Now that is in violation of this order. Good on Gov. Abbott to do this for us seniors who oppose the jab and scare tactics.
As someone who now lives outside the U.S. but still has hopes of returning to Texas to see friends and family, this is exceptionally good news!

Globe Life Park seats 49,000. If 38,000 showed up it wasn't a sell-out crowd.
He said government shouldn't require it. If the airlines require vaccine before boarding then they should be free to do so and the government shouldn't interfere.

....unfortunately, many businesses are still posting “Masks mandatory here...!!” signs or similar warnings.... why..?? there is a large and growing body of medical knowledge that supports the theory that masks are virtually useless in stopping the spread of this COVID virus.....we are becoming, of not already have become, a nation of sheep .....
