Just got back from a grocery run at the local HEB. Counted 22 shoppers (age groups throughout the spectrum) without masks in the store. Estimated about 100 shoppers in the store coming to about 20% identifying as non-maskers. Still a lot of sheep but getting better.

HEB is Texas, and the governor has receded mask requirements. I seem to recall that in concurrence, HEB stated that masks were now optional.

But to your point, here in NC, where I am now, fewer and fewer Americans are heeding the NC governor's call to make up. People here have had enough nonsense.

“I seem to recall that in concurrence, HEB stated that masks were now optional.”

All HEB employees are still required to diaper up. In addition, the diaper required sign is still up at all entrances/exits with the occasional diaper up nonsense blathering over the intercom system.

I'm in Manhattan and just returned from Mass where many in my section lowered their masks around their mouths. It's Palm Sunday and the reading of the Passion is really long so it may have been to prevent from fainting but hey, it's a start.
