Conservative Educators Blog #1

I am conservative. I am also an educator. For a while now, I have felt an increasing need to report the sort of things that go on at Public School (and probably at private school although you don't hear about it).

I share many concerns with other Freepers about our educational system, and it is these concerns that have made me decide to start publishing the garbage I receive from the left.

My goal with this blog is to create a record of the comings and goings of public education for you all. This includes: -emails we receive -educational opportunities for teachers sponsored by leftists -policies from State departments of education and the national department of education -trends in education -textbook and curriculum concerns -think tank infiltration of schools -money problems in schools -what is really going on when you read about discipline in schools -state and national laws (statutory and common law) -Union issues -other info as need be

I know there are people here who have zero respect for schools, and I certainly understand. My intention in doing this is to provide a service to conservatives, including ways to help you fight liberal teachers, administrators, school boards and legislatures. I simply ask that before you berate and jump to conclusions, please consider the things I will be writing here. You certainly don't have to agree, and I don't take it personally if you hate teachers. But not everyone on the FR is an expert on education. So please, give it a chance, and hopefully you can carry some of this info with you to fight the good fight for our country!

Today I received the following email. It is not the first time that I have received it. I have attached the body of the text for you to decided, however, I think it is pretty clear that this educational program is a bunch of hippy dippies spreading their nonsense. I have never replied to this group norndi the allow them in my class.

Dear ______________ high school teachers, I am touching base with you again to see if you are interested in video presentations for your students. As a reminder, our pre-recorded video presentations are offered at no charge, and support many of Indiana's Academic Standards (found on our website). These can be used both in the classroom and for students enrolled in virtual learning! Importantly, all of our video presentations have accompanying lesson plans and quizzes to enhance student learning.

If you would like to preview our video topics and/or request access to our full-length video presentations for your classes, please visit ecprogram.org/preview-presentations. Our topics are described below:

Healthful Eating (40 minute video)

Heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, certain cancers, and other diseases are heavily influenced by diet and lifestyle. Students learn about the connections between the Standard American Diet and health, and discuss ways that informed dietary choices can help prevent or relieve diseases. We also explore how modern farming and agricultural practices contribute to present-day public health concerns. The latest meat and plant-based food science technologies are also discussed.

The Environment and Modern Agriculture (41 minute video)

Students explore how the current global demand for animal products and related crops affect ecosystems and our health through global warming, the depletion of natural resources, the pollution of soil, water and air, the loss of wildlife, deforestation, and ocean depletion. Participants discuss alternative food choices that can help protect our environment. The latest meat and plant-based food science technologies are also discussed.

The Ethics of Eating (43 minute video)

Including information from the above presentations, students comprehensively explore the impacts of food choices on human health, the environment and animals in modern animal agriculture.

Cell-Based & Plant-Based Technologies: The Future of Meat and Dairy (28 minute video)

Students will discover how food science innovations have the potential to revolutionize modern food production and consumption systems, as well as address health, sustainability and ethical concerns. Participants explore plant-based meats, cultivated (cell-based) meats, and "animal-free" dairy and egg technologies, taking an in-depth look at the science behind their production, as well as the benefits, with a vision for a more sustainable, healthy and compassionate food system.

You can visit our website at www.ecprogram.org to learn more about the program and our mission.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Educated Choices Program

I will read your blog. For some unknown reason, at age 49, I decided to go back to school (and back to work) to get a masters in elementary education. I was an attorney before having kids. I live in a very conservative part of SC and so far a lot of “the agenda” hasn’t hit here. It is only a matter of time, I’m sure.

And not for nothing, but when we lived in a very conservative part of FL, my son got the brainwashing of his life at his private Baptist high school. His Bible teacher was a rabid anti-Trumper.

I am a retired teacher, one of the few conservative teachers in our building. I’ll be very interested in reading your blog. Thanks for taking the time to keep us informed from the front lines.

I’m a conservative educator too.

I don’t try to bring politics into my class by kids there are either hardcore lefties or skeptical conservatives.

I would love to have insights from the inside. The current programming of school children is the most frightening thing the left is doing. Without young people free from indoctrination we are lost.
