As the math professor would say, the proof is left to the student.
Reminds me of an explanation for some past inexplicably stupid decision:
“Why did they do it that way?”
We can decompose the question into two parts, “Why?” and “Did they do it that way?”
The answer to the second part is “yes”.
The answer to the first part is left as an exercise for the student.
