Couldn’t the elderly woman have picked up the ‘rona in Seattle?

Certainly.

Thing is, until last week, there had been only three dozen positive test results among local residents and only half a dozen patients presenting symptoms since March of 2020. No one had been hospitalized until this week. The two people that were admitted to our local clinic were admitted as a precaution due to their vulnerability, not to their condition.

Since this whole thing began, Petersburg has counted one death - an old man who went to Seattle to enter hospice care, contracted the disease and died. We now have two hospitalizations to count toward our COVID score and our total positive test count has doubled!

yay

............ I live on the other side of the state. Last November we had a flu outbreak in our church, 30 out of 40 people got it within a 1-2 week period. Regular flu for most. Some got tested positive for covid, the test is not covid specific. It is the flu. Pretty sure it was spread by contact with the front door. Flu is like that ya know. Very few become critical. No need to panic. BTW we got some bad sad effects from the shot here lately. Bogus shot in my opinion.
