That is sick! 13! 90 pounds! No way she should give blood unless she has a sibling or relative who needs some rare something or other found in other members of that family.
I’m a little person. I wanted to give blood many a time but was turned away for not making the weight mark when it was 110, at least in my area at the time.
Then at some point it was lowered to 100 and I made it. But they couldn’t get the needle out because it was too big. They don’t have pediatric-sized needles for blood donations.
They finally got it out, of course, but it took the 5th, most inexperienced technician who had the knack.
The bruise was huge. The soreness terrible. I could not do many things with that arm for a while.
Now that I’ve put on weight and could make the cut off if it were raised above 110 I still can’t give because my veins are too small.
So I don’t think giving blood is a good idea for your average kid of 13.
