Yes he was a Lieutenant General (McInerney) but generally speaking, people will just use the title "General". Just because someone is a Major General, a Brigadier General, or a Lieutenant General does not mean they can't or don't just use the term General, (in general).

I don't often see the star designation in General. For one thing, most people can't even spell Lieutenant correctly the first time and Brigadier General is a mouthful. So it is not uncommon to just use General. We often say General Flynn do we not?

So using the term General in stead of the full Lieutenant General does not make an account false. That is incomplete logic and alone inconclusive.

That account is not a verified account that I can see and supposedly McInerney "himself disavowed the account in a January internet radio appearance, flatly saying it didn’t belong to him." That is according to the Daily Beast. FWIW... MSM consensus is that anons have been duped by a fake account. That's all I know right now. Happens often.
