Your favourite Rush memories

I recently came across this clip from the Clinton Years of Rush calling out said President's crocodile tears during the Ron Brown memorial service which did bring a much needed smile to my face.

Now that we're looking back on his life, I thought would be a good time to ask people here for their favourite Rush moments that hold dear to them. Whether he made you laugh or stoked passion in you

How about the PETA update (I think it was called). Had the song ‘Born Free’ with guns going off, etc.

I remember that. I sent my picture and Mario Snerdly was the screener when I called in.

We had the same issue when on travel. First thing in the rental car was to find the conservative talk stations and lock those in. In the time window when Rush was supposed to be on the air, we would scan manually through the dial to listen for his voice, because the autoscan would often miss the weaker stations. Once we found him we would lock that station in using the preset buttons. I will admit to returning rental cars with all the preset buttons set to the nearest Rush station.

My favorite memory is when I was home sick and listening to the Rush Limbaugh show and posting to the daily thread.

It was in May of 2011 after a special election in New York. I posted to the live thread that I was disappointed that Limbaugh said that he totally missed the news that a special election had happened.

Apparently, Limbaugh was aware of the post and he began debating on-air what I was posting to the thread.

My absolute favorite example of Rush's "Excellence in Broadcasting" was during the Afghanistan-Iraq war period, when Rush reacted creatively from his patriot's heart to counter a smear by "Dingy Harry" Reid, and in so doing enormously benefited wounded veterans.

Rush auctioned Reid's nasty letter on eBay that was co-signed by some of the worst swamp rats ever to disgrace the halls of Congress. In repudiating Reid's arrogance, el Rushbo raised $4.2 million for disabled veterans. Talk about using a lemon to make lemonade!

Harry Reid and the Smear Letter

The list of signers is at the link above. Imagine the worth those historic autographs on the auctioned letter will retain.

May God bless the incomparable patriot Rush Limbaugh, and comfort his family.

I had forgotten about the Reverend Jackssonnn!

I first encountered Rush while working for a small business owner in the summer of 89 or 90. Coming off the 88 election - first I could vote in - I'd been asking the question, what is the difference between Democrats & Republicans? I walked into work and Rush was on the radio, answering all my questions. What a blessing!

Also, was so astonished at what he did every day, when he was doing the show deaf. Recorded a couple of those on cassette tape - ha!

Rush's hilarious nonsense impression of Chinese President Hu Jintao's during his visit to America in 2011.

Limbaugh said he was watching Hu speak on Fox News, and that the feed was unaccompanied by any subtitles or translation.

"Normally, you'd have somebody translate every couple of words, but Hu Jintao was just going-" Then Limbaugh let fly with his Ching chong, ching chow chong cha, chong chang, ching chong chibababa, oh chonghing chi chigarai, cheng chi chi. ching zha baba chenga cheng chi chi chi. changi. oooooo. ching cholaba baba. ge chow chow ba 17-second impression. "That’s the closest I can get," he finished.
