His polls are sinking. Democrats are mobilizing. The Newsom recall just got real.

OAKLAND, Calif. - California Gov. Gavin Newsom doesn’t want to talk about the recall. But his allies can’t ignore it.

The campaign to oust Newsom went from unlikely to unavoidable this week as pervasive frustration with Newsom’s pandemic management cut sharply into his approval numbers. The longer businesses have been closed, hospitals full and school campuses shut, the more the movement has gained traction beyond conservative social media circles.

The nation's biggest Democratic vulnerability after a score of blue victories has become an irresistible nightly feature on Fox News. Should the effort qualify, look for money to pour into the state and celebrities to add their names to the ballot, if only for the promotional benefits.

Newsom still deflects questions about the opposition effort by saying he is singularly focused on vaccinating Californians and reducing Covid-19 spread. He has adamantly denied that his abrupt decision to reverse stay-at-home orders last month was an attempt to quell voter frustration. And he seems determined to avoid legitimizing the effort by acknowledging it.

But California Democrats and their political backers are bracing for a campaign nevertheless as recall organizers turn in hundreds of thousands of signatures. State lawmakers are proclaiming their support for Newsom, seeking to tamp down any signs of disunity. Interest groups and donors who would be called upon to fund a recall defense are quietly ramping up, with one union launching the first public counteroffensive.

“Are we getting prepared to oppose it? Of course,” said Joe Cotchett, a longtime ally and donor to Newsom.

Democrats are mobilizing.

To cheat on the voting.

If only they allowed a recall on senators Mitt Romney would be gone by now

I am not convinced of that.

Whoever replaces him will probably be worse. Besides voting is somewhat meaningless when countless mail ballots can appear out of thin air.

No doubt he should be ousted, let’s have no illusions that Cali voters have “seen the light.” They may be annoyed with Newsom, but they would sooner have a brain tumor than vote GOP.

Arnold was a terrible Republican, about like an average Democrat. Not worse than Gray Davis, but a big disappointment.

Imagine what kind of gop candidate it would be in cali that they would vote for. Wouldnt be a conservative or moderate one.

The polarization and separation is immense.

To the best of my knowledge, if we qualify, we go to a special recall election. We vote “yes” or “no” and then choose what replacement we want. A list is provided of candidates.

We have the 1.4 million signatures we need officially today, according to Kevin Kiley. Now we need a cushion. We have maybe six weeks. I know I have about 30 I haven’t turned in yet.

Actually it is 1.5 million verified signatures (12% of the last California governor’s race in 2018 = 0.12 * 12.46 million = 1.495 million).

One reason the Uniparty is going to go to extreme lengths of Kabuki theater, gaslighting, and fake investigations, is to sell the lie that there is integrity in elections. They can't afford to have people walk away now that they know their votes don't matter.

It costs money to rig elections and they can't have such a low turnout where a recall election can be done almost instantly.

The Governator (Schwartzenegger) flew his private jet from Santa Monica airport (close to his Malibu home) up to Sacramento every day, and flew back every night to sleep with his housekeeper. Oh, the carbon footprint of an absentee leader!

My point was the last time CA did a recall, CA put some Hollywood celebrity jackass into the governors mansion, while he spent his time banging the illegal alien maids and early releasing of murderers connected to his political cronies.

There’s no fixing California because there’s no fixing Californians.

Does that include the owner of FR?

The article says it is about businesses still be closed. That is not it. It is his scatter-brained close, now open, close now open again orders. And that there was no logic to what was ordered closed and what was allowed to remain open.

His eating indoors in a restaurant with 20 guests while his no-indoor-dining order was in place does not help. His getting regular hair cuts when salons were ordered closed also stupid.
