My family lined up for the "sugar cube" polio vaccine at the cafeteria of Pearl Harbor Elementary school in 1961. Years later it was disclosed that our vaccine lot was contaminated with SV40. I developed cancer in July 1985. Fortunately, it was detected quickly and treated immediately.

SV40 contaminated polio vaccine was used from 1955 to 1963.
