I went to Brave.com to sign up and the first thing that comes up is a Google Chrome icon that wants to verify its me. What’s up with that?

I'd like to know, too. Chrome isn't Chromium...right?

Chrome is the true spyware/call home browser... Chromium is the the barebones of Chrome, without any spyware (and is also open source.. meaning that anyone can look at the code to check and make sure there is nothing hidden).
Chromium is the safe one; also, Brave is built from Chromium and is also open source.
