The test is not specific to the RNA of COVID19.
It only indicates an RNA of _A_ CoronaVirus is present.
That's false. For the RT-PCR test (considered the gold standard), the N1 and N2 target regions are specific to SARS-CoV-2. This has been verified against all known coronaviruses affecting humans including SARS-CoV-1 (SARS2003) and MERS-CoV (MERS2012). The sequences in N1 and N2 only ever match SARS-CoV-2. They're literally the sequences that make SARS-CoV-2 SARS-CoV-2 and not something else.
