I also discovered Rush on my car radio during Desert Storm. Or actually it was Desert Shield. I had a job back then that had me driving from Boston to Springfield, MA on a regular basis on the Mass Pike and having gotten tired of hearing the same Van Halen and Madonna songs over and over again, I switched to AM talk. I still remember all those C-5As that were constantly lifting off from Westover AFB to deliver supplies to the Desert Shield operation.

I immediately became a huge Rush fan and while he infuriated me on occasion, he was almost always in the right.

Rush also is responsible for getting me into Christmas music. I remember he used to rave about Mannheim Steamroller so I started buying their Christmas albums. Before long, I was a Christmas music fanatic and have seen Mannheim Steamroller in concert at least 10 times since.

I bought Mannheim Steamroller CD’s too, after hearing them on Rush’s show. I’ve always loved Christmas music, always loved the traditional Carols.
