Thanks Lysle, I have a vacation cottage on my property, and besides looking at the ocean the guests love to watch the birds at the feeder. At first in order to attract the birds I started buying just the sunflower hearts! It worked like a charm and boy did I get birds. Unfortunately along with the birds I also attracted squirrels, and at night the raccoons!

I'll try your solution, and use 2 feeders----I'll just put a sign on one reading "Birds" and on the other "Critters". LOL.

I've had one of these on a long staff with two large bird feeders. Squirrels can not get past the underside. Just make sure your feeder staff is away from a tree because squirrels can jump to the feeder. I have 8 birds eating now as I look out my windows. Squirrels like the sunflower seeds in the mix I buy..and birds are generous about dropping to them. Squirrels use to eat through the plastic on my feeders...and seeds would flow out. Not anymore.

You are welcome. I love your sign idea. For the fun of it I may do the same. We all could use a laugh and giggle.
