The post after yours I suggested Alpine or Davis Texas. I used to live there, I think the mountains are pretty. Davis even has pine trees.
Sierra Blanca is in mountains, head north of there you can get to New Mexico. I like Riudosa.
I made it home about an hour ago. Route without highways, once I got out of Fort Worth the cows outnumbered cars by at least 400 to 1. Blasted my rock music, stepped on the gas, felt like I was 20 years younger, and my neck and arms aren’t too bad. Had to settle my cat down. May try to catch up later after I’ve rested a bit.
Oh and on the trip up and back, Trump flags were EVERYWHERE. My granddaughter had one in her room. 🙂
