Reps for ABC News journalist George Stephanopoulos are lobbying for him to take over as host of “Jeopardy!,” according to The Wrap, citing a “highly placed” source.

The website says the 59-year-old — who co-anchors “Good Morning America” on ABC — has been “actively” chasing the role.

ABC, which has the syndication rights to the game show, will have to decide on a replacement with the game show’s distributor, CBS Television, and producer Sony Television. …

The producers of Jeopardy will want the show to remain the crowd-pleaser it’s always been. Why jeopardize that? They must make a ton from advertisers who would flee if ratings dropped.

Trebeck made two suggestions. One a very attractive black woman who has some leftwing cable show. The other, Alex Faust who looks perfect and perfectly non-controversial to me:

Little Georgie Steponallofus may be a shrimp of a man if he stood behind the "Jeopardy" podium, but there would be little difference in the height of hosts, as Georgie is 5'7".......and Alex Trebec was only 5'8".

However, it's worthwhile for ANY aspirant to pursue filling Trebec's shoes. He was pulling in $18m per year for "Jeopardy" at the time of his demise !!!

One thing is for sure, though.....little Georgie could never fill Alex's shoes even though their feet were probably about the same size.
