My father passed away today in his sleep. He was sick for a while and for last few days he was doing not too well and he was slipping away so we were expecting he would pass away soon.
But this night (we live in the Netherlands) he passed away in his sleep.
He was my hero and always supported me so I will miss him a lot. But I have comfort that he is with my brother now who passed away 4 years ago.

I’m so sorry to hear this Knighthawk. I lost my Dad on January 26th this year, so I know what you’re feeling. God Bless you and your family. Know that your dear Dad is with GOD now and that while you’ll miss him dearly, he is in Good Hands.
Condolences to you and the remainder of your dad’s family and friends, knighthawk. My dad has been gone 10 years this year and my mom 20. It was difficult times going through those experiences. I still remember things with my parents like it was yesterday. My wife dreamt the other night that she was hugging her mom and it was a solid hug. Her mom has been gone for 6 years. Our spirits with loved ones are good. They never leave you.

I lost my mother this year in February. It was a long drawn out affair, and when death finally came, I went into auto pilot and grieved only a little.
Don't be surprised if the grieving process doesn't hit you for a couple of months.
