I’ve mentioned before that I like watching livestream train YouTube channels. And that I’m considering retiring to Wyoming.
The train channel I watch has cameras all over the country; one happens to be in Laramie WY. It’s snowing there right now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQM0YwJmF-4 (there’s no schedule for freight trains so no telling when a train might happen by)
And I80 in most of Wyoming appears to be closed.
TRAIN!
I took a road trip when I was very young. Went from Flagstaff through Colorado to Wyoming. Made it to Cheyenne then had to turn around and go back to Texas. Wyoming is very pretty.
Winter in this part of the country (I'm in Montana 250 miles North of Laramie) usually starts around Halloween and ends at Easter. And that "around" can be as much as two or three weeks mostly due to the altitude (My home's at 4100 ft and many places in the Rocky Mountains can be over 10,000).
This year started Winter the second week in October for us and the stuff's just now working its way South, I guess.
Just now there's a foot of snow on the back porch and the temp's right about zero. Going to get colder tonight but then it's supposed to warm to the mid 40's by Wednesday.
Guess I'm used to the stuff. Gotta be after 65 years.
Snow already!!
I remember when we were looking at where to move when escaping mexifornia. I really loved the Coeur d’Alene area of Idaho, but looking at the weather graph, looks like it had two months of Summer and the rest of winter. I didn’t think that growing season would produce much
