I raised the question in first year law (circa 1980):

Given the courts opinion, shouldn’t the SCOTUS /only/ sit and “rule” over questions of constitutionality of law and and interstate agreements (trade)?

Dr. Smith says, “That is a question for next year.
I stuck with my Chem degree.

My Business Law teacher, in graduate school, tried to get me to go to law school. I looked at the requirements—talk about BORING—decided to stick with Business degree. Ha.
