I recall one time in Los Angeles I asked someone for a good pizza place and he told me to get on a certain highway and “don’t stop until you hit St. Louis.” It was funny 30 years and still make me smile.
Ha — that is a good line.
I have a great little hole in the wall Italian diner a couple blocks from me here in AL. I don’t see how a pizza could top theirs, but maybe I just don’t know what I don’t know, never having had the NYC real thing.
RE frozen pizza. The Archer Farms brand at Target is a cut above. Hand tossed crust, ultra short ingredients list, imported from Italy.
You don't have to go that far. Just take the 60 east to the 57 south, turn off at Brea Canyon Road and in about three miles, you'll be at Fratellino's Italian restaurant in Brea, Calif.
Must be the Provel cheese product made in St. Louis that the LAers are remembering...
Imo’s Pizza outta STL is the best thin crust ever. Special cheese blend. Now that’s a square beyond compare. ....
