Will You Get A Second Stimulus Check In Trump’s Executive Order?

Will President Donald Trump send you a second stimulus check by executive order?

Here’s what you need to know. Second Stimulus Checks

Trump signed executive orders today for a payroll tax cut, enhanced unemployment benefits, an eviction moratorium and student loan relief. Trump indicated all week that if Congress did not finalize a stimulus deal, he would take executive action to provide relief to the American people. One thing missing from today’s executive orders—second stimulus checks.

There is bipartisan support in Congress for a $1,200 stimulus check, and Trump supports a second round of stimulus checks too. Trump has even said second stimulus checks could be more than than $1,200. However, his executive orders do not include any checks.

Is that payroll tax a gift, or just deferred?

I’ve heard both.

Deferred would mean you’d still owe it.

I don’t need it myself, but if I get one, it will go straight to charity, like the last one did.

Holiday usually means forgiveness, financially. Some cities use sales tax holidays to stimulate downtown business, for example.

I’ll get it, too, since I’m under 6 figures. According to one fella (Puzder) on FOX News, companies are already exempt from their portion of the payroll tax for the time being, so this EO applies strictly to the remaining employee portion.

Ya, but the official stuff I’ve seen indicates it’s just deferred.

Which means we’ll just have to stick it back and hope the penalties in April ‘21 don’t come to more than the interest it will earn by then.

I agree, I’m fine with the $400/week stipend for the time being. Having it down from $600/week, plus the additional take-home pay in most paychecks, will provide a sort of push-pull incentive for more people to go back to work, as conditions permit (Thanks, Lockdown Larry Hogan, etc.).

I would also be fine with forgiving the $100 dollars of it that the states are mandated to provide under 2 conditions:

1. A state does all it can to stop the rioting, with the result of stopping the rioting, whether it takes live ammo, public hangings, requesting troops under the Insurrection Act, putting riot-torn cities into receivership and so-on.

2. A state re-opens its economy to the max possible under its individual state re-opening plan, so that we only labor under the lightest touch of regulations. In Maryland, I believe that would be Phase III, in Pennsylvania, it would be the green phase (already accomplished from border to border), in New York, Phase IV (already accomplished everywhere except NYC metro). That must include pre-empting local shutdowns, such as in the Rio Grande valley of Texas (just initiated), as well as in Baltimore and Anne Arundel County in Maryland.

That is why “rich” was in quotes. Seemed pretty clear to me.

~ 40 years ago I applied for unemployment (the Carter years + the Detroit auto bust) - I was given ~$25 a week. I thought I was back in 1946 (the old $20 for 50 weeks after the War).

Folks now have little incentive to work...

Others say “I’m blessed” or “Fortunate” - I put myself in a position where I’m “essential”. I have the scars and callouses...

I take you are in MD? My kid lives there!

I’m not sure I totally agree with you on some of the re-opening stuff. NYC is completely different from all of the rest of the state, I just don’t think you can use the same yardstick. But let me add that the very best use of a yardstick in NYC right now would be to beat DeBlasio about the head with it!

Agree on the rioting, I see the Mayor of Portland was a little taken aback to learn he was dealing with would be murderers, but I don’t see that his actions have changed.

I remember the Weathermen blowing up that Townhouse in the West Village, it’s a miracle they didn’t blow up the whole block. What if something like that happened?

But, I gotta say, back in those days the terrorists did NOT have the full throated support of the MSM and the Dem party. They might have had some covert sympathy, but nobody was cheering them on. Certainly not major US corporations. So stuff is very bad right now.

Republicans have never impressed me with their PR skills since 1972 when I first could vote as a naturalized US citizen.

The payroll tax freeze amounts to 7.65% of gross wages.
That is a huge bonanza, bigger than the stimulus check, but I have seen no Ads touting it is strictly due to PDJT signing the executive order, and no cooperation from the dims.

If Trump signed another EO for the next stimulus check, I am afraid again the GOP will FAIL to announce it from the roof tops. I shoulda run for office. I know how to fight dirty. I survived Office politics for 3 decades which was no walk in the park.

[[showing Nanzi and Chuck suing to keep unemployed Americans from getting much needed assistance,]]

Better yet, show then suing to keep unemployed African Americans, and gay people, and feminists, etc etc etc from getting help- an ad that woudl really tick the left off-

They might sue him anyway and... and find a way to fool low info voters into thinking it’s all the republican’s fault for them not getting help during the pandemic

I know it will be hard for the left to do this- but I’m foreseeing them giving it one heck of a go if they do decide to go to court-

Chris Wallacwe called nancy a ‘master negotiator’ today- which inflated her ego even further- but so far- she’s been out negotiated- by a lot- we’ll see what they coem up with next to try to deflect blame away from the left over this deal

[[POTUS Trump doesn’t have a Key to the Treasury like Nancy does.]]

No, but right now, because of this move, He does have the key to reelection right now- because people will be pissed at hte left for stopping the payments IF the left decide to sue to stop it-

Yep. Disaster for President Trump. Despite the propaganda cover. Notice not one question to Kudlow brought up about this. Not one.

half of all people getting unemployment are making more not working than when they were working....

I want a tax forgiveness for all essential workers who had to leave their homes and face covid head on....there has been very little appreciation of what they do....

"Those of us actually contributing didn’t get a first and will never get a second. We’re paying for every getting them."

I think of it this way when I feel sorry for myself being essential and having to go out to do actual work....at least I make a living wage...think about all those young people working at McDonalds....they could have sat out and got a huge increase in money for not working....to me, that is totally unfair...
