Home rental company Airbnb is shutting down properties that ignore social distancing guidelines and company policy to host massive parties. On Friday, the company announced that 35 listings in New Jersey that have received complaints or violated party or event policies are being suspended or removed for "irresponsible behavior."
Hoboken, Jersey City, Newark, Trenton and Atlantic City are among the 25 cities in the state that have impacted listings. Airbnb is not releasing the addresses of the listings "out of respect for the privacy of the hosts and homeowners."
"While the vast majority of hosts in New Jersey take important steps to prevent unauthorized parties - like establishing clear house rules, quiet hours, and communicating in advance with their guests - our actions today address the small minority of hosts who have previously received warnings about hosting responsibly. The suspensions were communicated to the hosts beginning yesterday," Airbnb said in a statement to CBS News. "Stopping large gatherings is more important than ever in this current environment."
Airbnb first banned parties at listings in December. They have also recently restricted some U.S. guests under the age of 25 from booking entire homes in their local area.

Does history repeat itself or what. Exactly a hundred years ago in the Roaring 20s people went underground to speakeasies to consume alcohol. A lot of people now are hosing private dinner parties to avoid these social distancing guidelines.

Our Democrat Dictators are authoritarians. Those people always think their diktats will be obeyed. When they inevitably are not, they resort to informers and force.
How do you get 700 people in a house and backyard? Was it an estate, as opposed to a typical suburban home? Where did everyone park their cars?
From the pictures I’ve seen of these parties, shutting them down will be deemed ‘racist’.
At one time, stuffy conservatives, uptight religious people, and indignant "Well I never!" authorities were once mocked in movies and comedies. Too many to cite here, but just about any movie in the 70s and 80s. (Caddyshack, and yes, Kurt Schlicter is right, Trump is Al Czervik).
And now its crazy Karen liberals who have taken over that mantle.

How in the world do you even get 700 people together? Free beer? I and no one I know could even scrape together 100, and that’s with church, nextdoor and facebook!
Who, in Heaven’s name, would want to rent out his house for one of these parties, unless he wanted his house devastated?? No way, after these reports, I’d even consider listing my place with that outfit.
When PD Live was on the air you would occasionally get to watch the police response to some of those parties.
