The Museum of the Scuola Grande di San Marco in Venice is hosting an exhibit of the Shroud of Turin, which began in mid-July and is scheduled to continue until the September 26. The exposition, titled “The Christ of the Shroud: A Sacred Tridemensional Anatomy,” features a life-sized, 3D model of Jesus, which was created using the physical dimensions of the image on the Shroud of Turin.

There is a lifesize computer generated image of the Shroud in a pilgrimage church in Rome, front and back. You can stand within a few feet to observe it in detail.

It’s both fascinating and hard to look at.

The fact that the image does not penetrate the Shroud fibers but is only on it’s surface is very interesting.

Since the shroud is a frontal image, the nose is basically just a guess.

I’ve done a lot of reading about the various inspections, imaging and experiments on the Shroud. There’s no guessing involved, the 3D aspects are not difficult to replicate accurately.
