And,of course state employees’ unions love this because no current holidays have been deleted.
I don’t know; while the tide is going that way, I don’t see companies wanting to have a holiday so close to 4th of July, as well as Memorial Day.
They need to invest another one on a more convenient date - preferably between Presidents Day and Memorial Day.
Eventually they will just set up a system of floating holidays - because right now in NJ all the imported Muslims and Hindus want their holidays off.

It would have been far more convenient for the slaves in Texas had Juneteenth been Januaryteeth or maybe Octoberteenth of a previous year.
Right - but don’t mess with Halloween!
We could celebrate Columbus Day while they celebrate Octoberteenth - since Hispanics already celebrate it as “Dia de la Raza” (the day the two races met). The Asians will just have to suck it up and accept that Tet/Chinese New Year has been moved to October; LOL!
