(You'd think there would be more similarity between "chain letter" and "chain mail".)

The end of slavery in the “still-racist” USA.

Here it comes. Juneteenth is going to be the substitute for Columbus Day as a holiday in Academic calendars.

Within a year Juneteenth will be a national holiday.

The South Park skit will be modified but basically this will be the merchandise for the holiday:

Exactly. I can’t decide which contrived word I dislike more.. “Juneteenth” or “Gaslighting”.

Juneteenth happened in Texas, not Massachusetts.
Charlie Baker is an idiot and is committing Cultural Appropriation against Texas.

*Juneteenth* is a Texas thing. I fly the Lone Star every year on that date. If Mass. or any other state wants in on it I say welcome.

Juneteenth is traditionally celebrated only in Texas (as of 1980). It should be left there!!!!
Columbus Day should be celebrated everywhere in the USA—especially in Massachusetts!! But Amherst, Northampton, Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville and Great Barrington celebrate the bogus “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” instead!!!! How “politically correct” of them!!
And we can celebrate Columbus Day whether Columbus was Italian or Byzantine Greek!!

It was Columbus who linked the New World to the Old!! Without him, no USA or Hispanic America!!!! And no Columbian Exchange!!!!

Juneteenth: blame it on the Republicans they did it.
Republicans: Getting people off the demoKKKrat plantation, setting them free and making demoKKKrats mad since 1861!

June 19th, 1865. That day, the emancipation proclamation was read aloud in Galveston, Texas (a major port city at the time). Up until recently, it was a Texas event only.
