If you are a liberal and do not leave your liberal politics in CA, in due time you will contribute to the pollution of Tampa and Florida and they too will become inhabitable. This you must understand. This is a fact that you cannot ignore.

When the housing market collapse comes you wont be able to give your house away.
My brother went through a housing market collapse in Ca in the 90s. Lost his a$$. He finally got out but it set him back years. I dont think when the next one comes there will be any recovery. LA is going to wind up as one big barrio.

I've been in Tampa 30+ years (before that I wasn't anywhere more than a couple of years since getting out of college). I believe Tampa is the best family/business city in the state. I raised my 3 sons to adulthood here.

Wesley Chapel is nice, however be sure to check the traffic patterns during rush hour. North Dale Mabry, Carrolwood and Lutz are also worth looking at.

We do, in fact, have a mayor who is basically a carbon copy of the mayor of Seattle, however somebody seems to have "given her a spine" lately (probably our Gov.).

If you need more info re: local recommendations just drop me a mail here. Welcome to the Sunshine State!

We are in NW Georgia not far from the Alabama and Tennessee borders. Cheap land, great community. You may want to consider this area and NW Alabama. We are on a mountain and it’s usually breezy and 5-10 degrees cooler than the valley.

We are avid scuba divers and spend a lot of time in tropical humidity. It’ll be different for sure, but we love it.
If our two vote keep Florida red, then this move could save the nation, right?

I bailed a month ago. I’m in Michigan now, which does have a Governor problem, but the people up here in the UP are about 60% pro-Trump, so it’s better than California. And my family is here.

We left Simi Valley in 2010 — to Tennessee. The Tampa area is really nice, too; we considered it.

but its a libtard area, 51% voting democrat, it leans to the left
It’s our starting point until we figure out we’re we want to end up. Plus it’s two more voters against tyranny for that area.

Welcome FRiend from Pinellas, cross the bay from Tampa. While we have Ex-everything Charlie Crist as our US Rep (and working to exit him), we are otherwise pretty conservative north of St Pete. Surrounding counties of the area are equally good. Great cost of living and NO STATE INCOME TAXES!

California is a lost cause. If every California conservative left and moved to a battle ground state like Florida, we could turn the tide in some of those states. What does it matter if the commie Rats win California’s electoral votes by a 60/40 margin or 98/2. Better all Conservatives moved from California and took their votes and tax dollars to swing states instrumental to keeping DemocRATs out of the White House, Senate, and House of Reps.

I agree. Plus if we all leave, they might lose a few electoral votes.

After 35 years in Silicon Valley, we retired to the Gold Country, Nevada County. We considered many other places around the country but weather was too high on our list. So we’re saying in CA and continuing the fight. There are really 2 Californias. We are happy here in the heart of the State of Jefferson. ;o)

I know exactly how you’re feeling. I was born and raised in the Bay Area. Got out right after HS. 30 years later, we finally managed to get my folks out of there. Never a better feeling than crossing over the border into NV for the last time!

We are avid scuba divers and spend a lot of time in tropical humidity.

2 hours north of the Tampa Bay area is Crystal River, a VERY POPULAR dive location. I did my open water training there. Very clear water coming from the multitude of artesian springs in the center of the state. At one time you could easily swim with the Manatees but the yahoos got that very restricted. Lots of dive shops throughout FL but the Gulf of Mexico stays shallow out a ways. Multiple springs can be explored with permission and caution.

That would be awesome to see California drop from 55 to only 40 electoral votes because most Republicans just up and moved to swing states.

In my dreams.

I admire the people who desire to fight, but it is sort of like two prisoner in a Soviet Gulag and one says, “lets escape” and the other one says, “Nah man, I going to stay and FIGHT!”

Ditto a Nazi concentration camp. Ditto a North Viet POW camp.

“Hey, lets escape so we can get another fighter airplane and get back to the war and kill some enemies”.

“Nah man, I’m going to stay here in confinement, being starved and beaten, and FIGHT!”

“OK, see ya”.
