RSBN coverage of the protest was fascinating. Strong opening move, the AmerInds appeared suddenly blocking the road with 3 vans. Slashing the tires was a nice touch. Only a few handfuls of Sheriffs stood between the protestors and the event ticket holders—Standoff! RSBN had a great feed, live from the front. A small adequate group of NGs walked up with large signs on their arms saying POLICE. First assault, NGs with shields line across road with sheriffs behind, they approach the vans. The first clash was nothing like Braveheart. Three people were tie-wrapped and taken away. The offensive line retreated and rehydrated while the tow trucks arrived. Then gas masks were donned. Some riot police appeared and a more determined line moved forward eventually forming 10 or 20 yards beyond the disabled vehicles. Some guy with a beanbag launcher standing in front of the camera, no, not posing at all. The vehicles were flat-bedded and then RSBN signed off for a low battery.
After some scenic backgrounds and patriotic band songs, live coverage returned. They said you could see in the distance police cars leaving.
It was like the Heidi Bowl.
