Browsers still support it, but it's replaced mainly by the <span>, but nearly any wrapping tag can contain CSS styles. No real need for it. We use it on FR because it does not support inline styling. The <blink> tag is deprecated, but still works. You can do blinking and other cool things with CSS opacity.
