Can anyone help me out? Why is the peak in VA May 20th if everything is on lockdown right now? Does that suggest a longer incubation time? Or does the virus take a long to make you seriously ill when the infection starts to show symptoms in your body?
I would expect with the drastic measures states are taking that the peak for most states would be the last last week of April.
Because VA governor is an IDIOT and loves the power he has over the people right now these Libs are orgasmic right now running their police states!!
Don’t confuse “quarantine” with “mitigation.”
Quarantine is for when you have been or probably have been exposed to someone with the virus, like the people on the ships. It should really be 24 days but it’s 14.
Mitigation is what we’re doing now on a less precise but broader scale to flatten that ol’ curve. Basically, it’s keeping the asymptomatic away from others on the assumption that there are many of those unwitting spreaders around. And the purpose of flattening the curve is to keep from overwhelming the health care systems.
I’m glad they are doing this. I would never want to be one of those unwitting spreaders. Since we can’t waste resources by having everyone tested (and besides, what would it prove, since you could be infected shortly after the test?), this is the way to do it. I am proud of the team and grateful that we have this talent. Most of the criticism comes from people who don’t realize that blindsiding the victim country is part of the plan. OK, that succeeded in part, but now that we’re on to it there’s no stopping us, except for willful ignorance.
It does take the virus a long time before it makes you very, very sick.
I think this lag is caused by the high amount of suburban and rural area here. That slows it’s spread.
But now we have an outbreak in out urban and NOVA area too.
I’m surprised at the date though.
We’d have been out of the woods if the entire world had shut down for 21 days at the beginning. Complete shut down. Don’t go outside for anything. No mail. No groceries. No walking the dog. Exceptions to healthcare, cops and a skeleton crew for utilities and all those living at work. But humans are wimps and would never stand for it. This is what China was banking on.
With 99% of everyone still out and about, this this monster will be with us for decades if not forever.
