When I wear a mask I usually get envious looks here in WC FL. It’s a SARS virus and is contagious days or weeks before symptoms so a mask is a no brainer. I think ppl are starting to realize this. Plus 1/4 of infected have no symptoms yet are contagious. I don’t think many comprehend the significance of these two factors.
I don’t worry about hands or skin, just where the mucus membranes are which is mostly the nose and mouth with the ACE2 receptors are. I wash my hands and use hand sanitizer before touching food.
I’m heading back to work in 3 weeks. I’ll be wearing a mask. When I return from work the clothes and mask go right into the dryer for 25 mins on high heat. I hope to get several uses out of each mask before the elastic goes.
1. She explains the PPE training she received, in the day, when first treating TB patients. Your mask has to be individually fitted to your face. You put it on, then they put a hood over you and spray a scent. If you can smell it, your mask isn’t fitted and has to be adjusted. They spray your fingers with a UV liquid. You put your mask on, take it off. They put it under a UV light. If you touched the mask where you shouldn’t you need more practice. So follow the instructions that came with the mask to the letter.
2. You don’t let your mask touch anything else! Certainly not your clothes in the dryer. Suspend it by a wooden clothespin from an oven rack set at 160 degrees for thirty mins.
