March 6, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) — Successful pro-life women are speaking out after actress Busy Phillips cited her professional success as an illustration of why pregnant teenagers should be able to abort their preborn babies.
Phillips was among the left-wing figures speaking at Wednesday’s pro-abortion rally outside the U.S. Supreme Court, which is currently reviewing an Louisiana law requiring that abortion centers make arrangements for admitting women to nearby hospitals in cases of life-threatening complications. Both sides are watching the case intently for its potential ramifications for states’ ability to regulate abortion.
Discussing a story of a 14-year-old girl recently denied an abortion in Ohio, Phillips complained that “strangers and their own personal beliefs were going to keep this little girl from living the life she was dreaming of. Smug politicians were controlling a 14-year-old girl’s body and future.”
“Here I was, sitting in Los Angeles in my beautiful office of my own late-night talk show,” she continued. “Soon, I would be driving my hybrid car to my beautiful f------ home, to kiss my two beautiful and healthy children and my husband who had taken the year off to parent so I could focus on my career.”
“And I have all of this, all of it, because I was allowed bodily autonomy at 15,” she declared.
Numerous prominent pro-life women responded to Phillips’s “heartbreaking” claims, including many who have confirmed from firsthand experience that motherhood is perfectly consistent with professional success:
Last June, Phillips testified before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee to rail against modest abortion regulations including parental consent, 24-hour waiting periods, and informed consent. During that hearing, she repeatedly refused to answer whether or not a so-called “autonomy” right to abortion extends to letting a fully delivered newborn die if an abortion fails.
This woman Busy Phillips has just defined her vision of the value of a human life. A successful acting career.
What other bargain with the devil is she willing to make?

So you didn’t even sell your own soul to become semi-famous. It had to be an innocent person’s soul on the block. That’s pretty cold.
Shouldn’t “bodily autonomy” include taking precautions not to get pregnant? I mean, if you do that, you pretty much have the bodily autonomy thing locked down.
I wonder whether she is going to teach her daughters to have sex when they are 15?
I wonder what careers that murdered baby might have pursued.
Her diatribe was one of the most hideous, sickening straight from the pit of Hell I have ever heard.

Wonder if she got a leg up on her career from Harvey? Sounds like she has the values for that.
According to Wikipedia, she was born in 1979 and got her first major role in 1999. That would have made her 20.
She was a real life “Skipper” at toy fairs, whatever that means, while she was in high school.
Was she pregnant before or after being a Skipper? Could she not have taken a few months off from being a Skipper, had the baby, given it up for adoption, and then gone back to being a Skipper?
I mean, how hard would it be for a teenager who had a baby to get her body back in shape compared to a 40-year-old who has a baby? And don’t some 40-year-olds who give birth do quite well at whipping their bodies into pre-birth shape?
Why is this site trying to install malware? They need to get their act together.
“Busy?” How is that pronounced? Is that like Ruth Buzzi Gingzburgh, the bag lady who pelted everyone with her purse? In any case, it should be pronounced closer to “busily and incorrigibly stupid.”
Never heard of her.
And if she had had complications she wouldn’t have the career, 2 beautiful children and a house husband.
I don’t remember her in much of anything. She must be collecting royalties from some Hollywood producer she serviced.
