I’ve got three sisters living in Florida and I worry about that place. So much so that I moved away from there several years ago and moved to rural Missouri. Florida is very multicultural. That and it sticks out like an appendage waiting to be chopped off. Hard State to evacuate. We were off grid for the first 4-5 years out here and at times didn’t see other people for weeks. We found a primitive campsite for $495/yr to stay at while we looked for land. Took us two years to find this chunk of woods and I’ve been working on turning it into something other than woods ever since. No dozer. Started out with nothing but a chain saw and finally got a little tractor which has been a help. Going back to off grid and not seeing people will be no big deal for us. Hopefully it won’t come to that. Hopefully electric and internet will stay on. We have a few hundred watts worth of solar panels but the charge controller went out a few years ago and by now, the batteries need replacing. We always had cold milk for the kids and LED lighting, could watch DVDs etc. Would cost $7-800 to get it back up and running.
All I want is for the electricity to stay on for the septic.
