While true, this is somewhat similar to a slow-motion EMP, where society stops, but people are still alive - and suffer.
I read Diamond’s Collapse about 10 or so years ago. Between extended supply lines and Sodomy we are asking for a repeat of Babel or, if you prefer, the trashing of Sodom et al.
I also read One Second After when it first came out, and again in the last year after my youngest daughter was diagnosed with Type-I diabetes. The suffering and dying of the innocent is going to be hard to take. I hope I am well enough positioned and that things are slow enough that I don’t loose her.
There is a fitting natural consequence for our society as it presently stands, and an obvious way for it to come about. Prophecy ain’t rocket science at this stage.

Well, I’m trying to make prepping fun. I bought numerous cans of for-sale Chef Boy-Ar-Dee products this evening. Also previously brought for-sale tins of spam in various flavors and numerous for-sale cans of Bush’s baked beans, grillin’ beans, etc. The Chef Boy-Ar-Dee stuff’s gonna take me back to my childhood if/when I’m quarantined!
