Two years back, in my town, India man punched his wife outside, reported by mailman, who called 911. Bailout the same day. nonfelony charges, later dropped. After a few months, the same man threatened his wife and beat her up. Released again. DA was protecting him from deportation. Its common practice, here DA avoids felony charges for illegals and foreigners.
