Now you have me wondering if exclamations of great emotion need to be short or whether phrases will work.

My friend says, "Jiminy Cricket." LOL

Added to my list. I’m trying so hard to remember what words my grandparents or mother used and can’t think of a single one. Grandfather was a Texan more used to using expressions like “Pull the chain. Dallas needs the water.” I’m thinking I never heard a swear word until I went outside and heard little boys saying things I quickly stopped them from expressing in my presence. And as I grew to adulthood and college, people I hung around with just didn’t swear. Since I went to U of Chicago, maybe they swore in Latin and I just didn’t understand them.
