Chiefs vs. Texans: Here are the craziest stats to know from Kansas City's comeback from 24-0

Early in the second quarter, with his team leading 21-0, Texans coach Bill O'Brien sent his offense back out onto the field to go for it on fourth down from the Kansas City 13-yard-line. The Texans were rolling, and they needed less than a foot to convert for the first down, so the decision made sense. Only O'Brien didn't actually have his offense go for it. Instead, he ran down the clock, called a timeout, and then sent Ka'imi Fairbairn out for a field goal try. The kick went through the uprights, giving the Texans a 24-0 lead.

The next time the Texans scored, it was to cut the Chiefs' lead from 41-24 to 41-31 with 24 seconds left in the third quarter. That's right. Kansas City ripped off six unanswered touchdowns and eventually reached the end zone on seven consecutive drives before finally settling for a field goal midway through the fourth quarter.

It was a truly spectacular run made all the more unbelievable by the fact that the Chiefs had run 12 plays and gained just 41 yards before the explosion began. Dur

I went to sleep at 24-0. Woke up this morning, looked up the score and wondered how the Chiefs scored 31 points. Closer look 31 points was Texans!

One minute, you’re holstering your play sheet after dialing up a first-quarter kill shot that could send your team to the Super Bowl. The next, you're just a man all alone on the sidelines amid the fireworks wondering where it all went wrong.

As a Chiefs fan I thought the only folks at the game ready to play were the fans. After the first quarter, I figured it was over. Then a kickoff return and TD. Then in my opinion the big fake punt stop charged everyone there’s batteries. Also, give Mahomes that kinda time, you got problems.

In Super Bowl 1 the players didn’t kneel and disrespect the USA. So very few similarities.

It’s really interesting that the current Houston Texans played the former Dallas Texans this weekend for the chance to play the former Houston Oilers next weekend!! Huh???

True it was played in Los Angeles. The GB team won 35-10 and movie stars were there that respected the flag. However, I don’t think GB or KC were front and center on the horsesh*t your talking about. I watched SB 1 as a grade school kid. Hank Stram nor Vince Lombardi would have put up with it. Lombardi once told a receiver after a touch down catch “ you celebrate like that again I’ll bench your ass. We’re professionals, we’re suppose to be in the end zone act like it.” Not all these guys are shitbirds, more than we should have to put up with, I’ll grant you that. Just saying.

Was watching game but never really thought KC was out of it because they were at home. The Texans went to that lead all in the first quarter which gave KC 3 full quarters to catch up, it took one quarter to catch up.

KC my pick to win the SB.

No question.

If KC reaches the Super Bowl, it’ll be in Miami not KC. I hope you’re right but like Yogi said “It Ain’t Over Till The Fat Lady Sings”.

I went to sleep at 24-0.

I'm near Stuttgart, I was about to give it up and go to bed when the Chiefs started their tear. Didn't get to sleep till after the game was over at 0100, and was up at 0545 for work. Ugh.
