Most weapons effects are obvious. Since at any given moment usually all the real cool stuff isn't available you must do things with what you have with you. What works on what target depends on the effects you need to screen/neutralize or destroy the target or just the equipment/people associated with it, and for how long it needs to stay in that condition for your mission to be completed. Probably half is target analysis and half a weapon's effects. Somewhere in there is cost, but watching the Apaches, that notion seems to disappear. Also in killing these Iranians, there is usually no thought of collateral damage (undesired damage) since everyone around them deserves it too, rather additional damage is considered.
