“Whole Milk that is NOT Homogenized is best”

Does “homogenized” mean the same thing as “pasteurized”?
Years ago I worked in a health food store where the proprietoress was selling unpasteurized milk “under the table” as it was a violation of state law.
She gave me a taste, and I was addicted! But she acknowledged with a straight face that a bad batch could make me die— or want to.

“homogenized” = fat molecules whipped up so much that they don’t easily separate in the container. The fat is effectively emulsified throughout the liquid.

“pasteurized” = heat treated to kill microbes
