A problem here... takes quite a while to get 'hot' to a faucet {I moved the unit outside a few years ago.} With the factory lower temp setting it takes even longer and almost not worth waiting for.
About The fittings didn't match - seems to be a modern phenomenon... little standard hardware so that you need a licensed specialist and have to buy expensive proprietary stuff. The do-it-yourself life-of-Riley yokel -[me]- is becoming obsolete!

We always set our water heater lower than usual. My Dad’s cousin’s grandson was taking a bath, and in an instant turned on the hot water tap, fell into the stream and severely burned his face—not taking any chances with our kids and grand kids—YMMV.

The president signed the NDAA with all those restrictions, then he wrote a letter to congress telling them that, yes, he's signed it and he is using the money, but he's going to ignore all their stupid attempts (my words, not his - he was statesman-like) to control, limit, hamstring the office of the presidency. He took the money and then told them to go pound sand.... :D
He keeps doing that with legislation he signs - they will of course go after him later claiming he violated the law, but he is putting on record that they have no legal basis for enforcing those limitations.

I lean toward him being an asset rather than an agent. Ghislaine? Dunno. She might have been an agent or an asset.
As an 'intelligence asset' he would have done favors for various agencies and they would do favors for him. That makes a lot more sense to me than him being an 'agent' of someone's.
Ghislaine's daddy was Mossad though. She certainly was in her daddy's circles and knew many of the same people he did. Some of that probably translated into her relationship with Epstein.
