was there something worse in the vans? The evacuation area was awful large for 1000 gallons of gasoline

You throw a couple sticks of dynamite and a remote controlled detonator in the midst of all those jugs, and park it in an area which is daily filled with crowds pf pedestrians....dump some liquid detergent in those jugs to add to the horror.

Yup...we need more gun control.

“Yup...we need more gun control.”

NO. What we need is STRAW CONTROL. And umm... to put out the fires in the Amazon Rain Forest because the Amazon Rain Forest is where we get all our air from and what are we going to have to breathe if the Amazon Rain Forest is all burnt up?

Understood, but they had what appeared to be more than a square mile evacuation area. That’s as much or larger than any I’m familiar with for a lot worse toxic or explodey stuff in the hazmat emergency response manuals I’ve had...

From the ‘93 emergency response guide

“Heavily encased explosives, such as bombs or artillery projectiles are involved, stop traffic and begin to evacuate all persons including responders, from area in all directions for 5000 feet for rail car and 4000 feet for tractor trailer. If heavily encased explosives are not involved evacuate area for 2500 feet in all directions”

Gasoline is “isolate in all directions for 1/2 mile” for volumes about 10X that reported (tanker or rail car).
