The new president of The Heartland Institute, Frank Lasee, was not exaggerating when he described the 13th International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC13) as the most important climate change and energy event of the year.
Speaking about the July 25 conference held at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., Lasee explained, ICCC13 demonstrated that the Climate Delusion is not based on sound science or economics. It is wasting trillions of dollars and threatening our way of life, while propping up the drive for world socialism.
This was a common theme throughout ICCC13. The Climate Delusion, relying on bad science and misguided economics, is damaging America and threatening the world.
The conference sold out with over 300 attendees, launched with a translated video address by Dominik Kolorz, a Polish trade union activist and the chairman of the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Solidarity, the largest regional union structure in Poland. Kolorz could not be at the conference because he had to support union workers in a protest against the closing of furnaces in one of the largest employers in Śląsko, a major steel plant, due to misguided European Union climate policy. You can see that the effects of climate policy, already noticeable, can be very dramatic in a social context, said Kolorz. We do not deny that we are in a period of global warming. But
there is no scientific consensus, in our opinion, about human responsibility for climate change

I’d like to see the attendees list.
So are they for or against climate change? Their opening speaker would suggest they are agin it?
I’m so confused.
They seems to be opposed to the scam that is taking place.
bkmrk
OK, read the article and they are agin anthropogenic climate change. The intro speaker excerpt threw me.
Still confused but not about the article.
Yes, after reading much of the article I concluded that. I thought so from the headline but wasn’t so sure after I read the intro speaker remarks.
“...Dominik Kolorz, a Polish trade union activist...”
Good grief, is that the best they could come up with? In order to combat the myth that is anthropomorphic global change, they need real scientists (like the guy from NOAA) to lay out that facts.
It’s embarrassing to see that a supposed conservative web site would even report it. It makes us look silly.
“During panel 5, Dr. Benny Peiser, Director of the London, England-based Global Warming Policy Forum, gave an eye-opening talk about the negative impacts that installation of wind and solar energy projects were causing all over Europe. Germanys poor judgment in this area, Peiser said, was destroying its leadership in all areas of high-tech manufacturing as a result of the tripling of their energy costs. For every kilowatt they produce with wind or sun, they must have a fossil fuel plant at the ready to take over when the wind and solar power are not adequate.”
I read somewhere a couple of years ago that air pollution in Denmark and Germany had actually INCREASED since mandates for wind power because so many power plants had to be kept in low efficiency spinning reserve status for the many times the wind was not sufficient.
The reason I got confused. I mean, really? I see the point they were trying to make but this way? The program committee was looking for a headliner that would be really different and goofed.
Are you for or against unicorns?
I strongly believe that everyone who can find them should have at least one.
OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the suns planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?
That was just someone giving the opening video address from a remote location. He was not a presenter, but he appears heavily involved in how these insane energy policies are affecting workers. And, any person from Poland, including a dog catcher, has more pull then Algore.
“That was just someone giving the opening video address from a remote location.”
aka a keynote address. Generally, it’s purpose is to set the tone for rest of the conference.
Having anyone other than someone well-versed in climate science to have such an honor makes the whole conference a joke, IMO.
