To quote Yogi Berra, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it.”
Women like this usually think that children are here for their benefit. Hairless puppies so to speak.
I've got a sister-in-law like that who could never put her children's needs ahead of her own. And lo and behold her daughter has grown up to be the same way and is on the way to destroying her kid's life.
That’s OK, like Obama once said, the government will be there to take care of women from the cradle to the grave. Who needs husbands or kids when you have social workers to drop by once in a while?
There are indeed women and men who are not suited for Parenthood. In my opinion if they recognize that it’s probably a good thing.
In this woman’s situation she’s looking back on her life and realized how little of value she has actually contributed to the world, though she doesn’t recognize it as that.
It is not children that she misses, it’s friends and relationships with people that she has contributed something of value to. People who will miss her when she’s gone, people who will be able to say that their life is better for having known her. Takes a lot more than popping out babies to be that kind of person.
The show was entertaining. It was funny. But the happy ending they stuck on to it where they all end up happily married in their mid to late 30s after having taken on a football teams worth of guys previously......uhhhh no. Not remotely realistic. Sorry. Men value youth. Greatly. Theres no sense in getting angry about that. Its not society. Its not images in the media. No amount of political will or attempts at browbeating is ever going to change that. Its biologically preprogrammed by millions of years of evolution.
Knowing that fact, act accordingly. If you want a good guy who will be devoted to you and who wants to have a family with you, get him in your 20s. Your bargaining power and the odds of you getting what you want only go down from there.
She could have just birthed them, then turned them over to a nanny. Mommy sees them 2 hours a week, when they are clean, fed and happy, nanny raises them.
Never even have to change a diaper.
I actually had someone brag on their daughter who is a ceo with a full time nanny.
At least she didn’t do that. .. We get the benefit of her gene pool ending with her.
If shed had kids, shed regret not pursuing her career. The grass is always greener. Only difference, she wouldnt write a book about that.
Don’t know about the actual book, but the show was basically 4 women playing the roles of gay men.
I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be almost 86 and not have all these children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren...
Over the past decades, who would I have had to give all (well, almost all) of my guns & ammo to?
