interesting factoid/data:

Between 2000 and 2012 the average number of earthquakes in just the US alone was 3,820 per year that are magnitude 2.5 or higher.

Not sure how reliable that data is, but I have no reason to doubt it. Not political or anything.

I’m looking at the USGS US map for the past 7 days and there are 1389. In 7 days. That’s more than 1/3 of the annual average for 2000-2012.
