Hubby and I went to a James Taylor concert at Interlochen Arts Academy. For his closing act, he sang quite a few songs that had great choruses. So, we all sang along...and because both the songs and my voice were old, I could sing harmony. The whole crowd sang...very quietly, as we didn't want to be rude and we still wanted to hear him. He told us he really appreciated our back up, the Arts Academy didn't pay him enough to bring along his whole crew!!!
His arrangement of Oh, Waly Waly is great he added a few lines to the standard The Water is Wide version and it begs for an “echo vox” which I am apt to sing out...in the shower, while the wife is vacuuming the cat.
>>Aww, Mairdie! You’re so easy!
My favorite Mary is Easy story:
Brother drove with me past the empty Chicago boat harbor and said, “Oh, look, Mary, they’ve sunk the boats in the harbor.” He went on to explain that boats are waterproof, so they sink them for winter protection. I’m a newly married 19 year old and driving by the same location with my husband. “Oh, look, Bruce. They’ve sunk the boats in the harbor.”
Sigh.
