A Latino gang member faces sentencing in October for orchestrating the firebombings of homes of black residents in the Boyle Heights area five years ago in an effort to drive them out of the defendant’s turf.
Carlos “Rider” Hernandez, 34, pleaded guilty Monday to five felonies that together carry a sentence of 15 years to a possible life term in federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. U.S. District Judge Christina A. Snyder set an Oct. 7 sentencing date.
In the early morning hours of May 12, 2014, eight members of an East Los Angeles street gang, which claims Ramona Gardens as its territory, prepared Molotov cocktails, smashed the windows of four apartments and threw the lit firebombs into the units.
Hernandez, the scheme’s ringleader, ordered his co-defendants to meet at a location in gang territory on May 11, 2014 – Mother’s Day – to prepare for the night’s attack. At the meeting, Hernandez distributed materials to be used during the firebombing, including disguises, gloves and other materials, according to his plea agreement.
Hernandez explained that the order for the racially motivated attack had come from the Mexican Mafia, a prison gang that controls the majority of Hispanic gangs in Southern California.

Mr. Hernanadez will not fare well in Prison after snitching on the gang that ordered the hits.
I have been told more times than I can count that although there is animosity between black and white, and also between brown and white, that the animosity between black and brown is far greater and will be the real issue in any kind of race war in the USA.
Betting Whiteys got blamed for it.
As Hispanics are trafficked here to fill the growing voids between urban cores and suburban whites, they are displacing blacks in the workforce (including government set-aside jobs and contracts), political offices, neighborhoods, the drug trade (and related prisons)...some blacks leading up to the 2016 election finally seemed to realize they were losing badly with the open border.
Hispanics are imported to serve as an Occupation Tribe insurance policy against the paranoia/confabulation of white supremacy.
Go to any public school in Los Angeles and you will soon find out that Brown and Black people are the most racist people on the planet. And there are NO white people to speak of in the public schools in the greater los angeles area.
Mexicans don’t particularly like black people, black people know this and don’t like Mexicans back. This whole idea of ‘people of color’ united against whites is a myth that the ‘leadership’ of both communities like to perpetuate, but it doesn’t really exist on the ground.
As an aside, why do minority groups have ‘leaders’ who speak for them?
Koreans and blacks are the funny ones.
Black and brown compete for drug turf in the same cities. They also compete for working-class jobs, for government jobs, and for benefits.
No mention of his immigration status. And we all know what that means.

They should have done what the black people did in Detroit all those years ago: Drive by in the middle of the night and pop off a few rounds into the home. The home owners get the hint and usually move out the next day. This technique caused 1.5 million white people to move out of Detroit and I don’t think anyone ever got arrested.
