Ahhh. The shock of the success of Prez DJT's economic policies may have contributed to his demise at 58. I never heard one economist in that administration that had even a rudimentary understanding of economics. I suppose Harvard is mostly to blame.
It is a matter of history (AOC take note). Start about 9000 BC at Nabta Playa in southern Egypt; it was wet and fertile at that time and a thriving livestock center. They were doing cattle drives all the way to Mesopotamia - a thousand miles? That is called capitalism... driving cattle that far for profit.
A bit obscure for young minds? OK, how about the ancient Silk Route, all the way from the Mediterranean to China? Fraught with perils and hardships. Why? Profit.
But we are so much smarter today (thank you, Charles Darwin.) Now we know that humanity has been wrong for 11 thousand years; capitalism is outdated... the collective is the NEW answer: all for one and one for one. So Harvard and the Ivy League doesn't have to teach history. Egypt? With all that funny writing? Pshaw! Silk? We got nylon. Ptui!.
Paul Krugman predicted that, with the election of DJT, the world would be plunged into a deep depression, possibly global war. Have they modified their views? Naw! Trump and Putin must be conspiring to hide the imminent collapse of everything.

It is important to note constantly that Socialism is the antithesis of Indiviual Rights. Whereas the American belief in individual rights dictates that I can own an AR15 for my protection, the socialist claims they are too dangerous for society, and that my rights are trumped by societies needs. Socialism is fundamentally as anti-American as any system can be. The Bill of Rights is the document that defines Americanism and must be used in every debate.
